Will I be finger printed when I go to Portugal?

As of October 12, 2025 Portugal and several other European countries will no longer stamp your passport when you enter. They will now finger print you as part of the new EES or Entry/Exit System. Please see the website that has been listed under the travel tab of our website.

DO I NEED A VISA OR PASSPORT TO TRAVEL TO PORTUGAL?

In 2025 you will only need an active passport to travel to Portugal. Please make sure your passport is renewed if you see that it is expiring in six months from your trip. It's better to be safe than sorry. Please see the "Travel" page on our website for additional details and the passport link for info.

WHAT AIRPORT SHOULD I FLY INTO?

The best airport to fly into is the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, airport code (OPO) located in Porto which brings you closer to where we will be. Please see details of this on the "Travel" page of our website.

SHOULD I RENT A CAR WHEN I ARRIVE?

This is a personal decision depending on what you want to do outside of the planned events scheduled. Note that the hotel does charge a daily parking fee of €15 to park at the host hotel. We will be providing transportation for the excursion day and for the wedding day. If you do rent a car make sure to reserve it well before you leave for your trip. There are taxis and Uber options if you want to go that route as well.

WHEN SHOULD I RSVP?

The time to RSVP has now passed. No more RSVPs will be taken for our wedding week.

IS THE VENUE INDOOR OR OUTDOOR

The ceremony will be held indoors. The cocktail portion will have both indoor and outdoor options, with the reception being held indoors.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

We request all guests to adhere to the all black formal, black tie dress code. Men should wear a tuxedo or black elevated suit with black tie or bow tie. Women should wear a floor-length dress. Please see the "Attire" section of our website.

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?

To keep our guest list manageable, we can only accommodate those guests formally invited. If you receive a plus one it will show up as you RSVP.

ARE KIDS INVITED?

We love your kiddos, but we are asking guests to refrain from brining kids unless discussed with the bride/groom and apart of your RSVP.

Yes! The drinks are on us, and the hangover on you! Please drink responsibly:)

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS DURING THE CEREMONY?

Our wedding ceremony will be an unplugged occasion. We kindly ask that you be present with us and do not have your phones or cameras on during the ceremony. After the ceremony portion feel free to take as many pics as you like. Please tag us in , or send any you do manage to take. Please do not share any on social media util we have shared our first photo as Mr. & Mrs. Tomlinson.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE IN PORTUGAL?

In mid October the weather can be in the mid to lower 70s and although the last couple of years have been mild, rain is still possible. So please come prepared and check the weather sites as we get closer to arriving.

WILL THERE BE A SHUTTLE TO THE WEDDING?

Yes. We will be providing the shuttle to and from the wedding. Note that the shuttle will only pickup and drop off at the host hotel, so please be mindful of that if you are staying elsewhere. Times for pickup and drop offs will be provided at a later date.

HOW CAN YOU INFORM US OF ANY DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?

When you RSVP, there is the option to make a note of any allergies or strict dietary requirements you have, which we will then pass on to our suppliers. This also includes if you would prefer the vegetarian alternative to our standard (meat) menu choice.

IS THERE A WEDDING REGISTRY?

With this being a destination wedding, your presence is gift enough for us. However, for those who would still like to bless us with a gift we we have a honeymoon fund registry you can find on our website under the registry page. Please do not bring any physical gifts we will have to travel with back home.

WHAT TIME DOES THE WEDDING END?

This will be a long fun day of celebrating so we ask that you come prepared to dance the night away with us. We will have our venue until 2am and plan to party with you until that time.

What important items should I know to bring?

Please bring an adapter to charge your electronics. Our electrical sockets are not the same as in Portugal. Please also bring your own personal steamer for your clothing. The hotel does not have irons readily available so you would be wise to bring a travel steamer.
